The Militia Localization Act of 1870 was legislation that reorganized the Utah Territorial Army (UTA) into several militia districts.

Nauvoo Acts of 1870 and 1871

The Nauvoo Act of 1870 allowed the LDS Church to form independant militia companies in event of war. The Nauvoo Act of 1871 allowed the Church to keep militia companies administration while at nil strength.
