Governor Ethan H. Sawyer UC (July 5, 1840–October 19, 1915) was a politician, military officer, and civil rights activist. He served as Governor of the Utah Territory from 1869–1872, Governor of Utah from 1872–1880, and the General of the West from 1865–1869 and 1885–1887.
