National flag of the 55th Utah Infantry Regiment
The 55th Utah Infantry Regiment had one of the most unique flags of the UTA. The national flag of the 55th was inspired by the famous Bennington Flag. The national colors also has a second regiment name, the unofficial name of the regiment given to it by Co. A, 55th UIR, the '1st Colored Infantry Regiment'. In the canton instead of the famous 35 stars and '76 numbering it has 13 stars and '62 numbering, that is because the regiment was formed on the first of July 1862.
The regiment flag of the 55th was normal and nothing really of note, however, the ceremonial flag of the 55th was impressive because it showed all of the major actions of the 55th. The ceremonial flag would be used at veteran's events and the original would be kept at the Utah Capitol Building.
